Lathe DRO Kit Suggestions

I have a grizzly G0709 14 X 40 Gunsmith's Gearhead Lathe that I want to add a DRO to it and I am looking for recommendations on a DRO kit. I can get one from Grizzly but I do not know if I want to go with the one they have or not?

DRO pros are good people to deal with and I have been happy with the DRO I got from them for my Bridgeport. http://www.dropros.com/DRO_PROS_Lathe_Digital_Readout.htm

I installed DroPro kits (magnetic scale) on both my lathe and my mill. Both were relatively easy to install and when I had a question, I called up and spent an hour on the phone with them (the guy in the video). They're great kits and great guys to deal work with.

DRO pro's is the way to go! A friend and myself bought the 14x40 Grizzly gunsmithing lathes at the same time about 3 years ago. I bought the Grizzly DRO and eventually he bought the DRO pro. I had to build everything to mount the Grizzly DRO, there was nothing that came with that kit that was usable in the way of mounting it. I used the DRO and scales and threw the rest in the trash. The DRO pros on the other hand with the mag scales that you can cut is very handy and make mounting that much easier. Good luck with your purchase!

I have one on my mill and lathe. I wouldn't be with out it on the mill. If I had it to do over I wouldn't have spent the money for the one on the lathe.
