Last Stands of the Season

Saturday my partner and I made it out for our
last day calling this season.
We made 14 stands and at the end of the day
we had called in 5 coyotes, 2 bobcats, and a single
grey fox.
Bryant built 22-243 nailed the Bobcat and 2 coyotes
and a Remington 700 VSF 22-250 drilled the other
coyote. The Seirra 65gr Game King is really working out
as a fur bullet in the 22-243 it has been a consistant
one shot DRT killer. Only one bad performance and it was
driver error.
This picture is what we were able to work with.....

You guys must have a ton of bobcats in your area! That's a good day of calling what are the going rates for the fur if you don't mind me asking?

Nice job,

I'm starting to have withdrawal symptoms up here, and we still have some snow banks clinging to life, and brown grass starting to show. I need to give 'er a last gasp try.....

Wow, Double Wow - what a terrific hunt!

Noticed the shooting stick. I've been using one for ten years now. I built my own out of 1/2" diameter Aluminum solid rod, inserted 12 inches of rubber heater host on one end of each stick and secure the sticks with 1/2 velcro. For stalking, I can quickly set up and adjust to target within seconds, much faster than a bipod.

I carry an small aluminum shooter's chair with me also. With this sytem I can get a four point rest, both elbows on knees, one hand holding sticks and one hand holding rifle; both feet flat on ground. I like this system must better than a bipod since I get more field of view from the sitting position, it's easier on my back than sitting on the ground, I avoid the ticks from sitting on the ground and I can shoot very accurately off this system. For example, most of the time I can shoot 1" groups at a 100 yards and hold well within 3" at 200 yards from my varmint rifles.

Would like to here about your system - obviously it works.

There should be a year round bounty on those vicious bastards.I have heard horror stories about them all over new york state and all over the place on vicious attacks on live stock and pets.I am afraid to let my dogs out without keeping a close eye on them. I hear them baying not far from my house.

Coyotes weren't worth skinning this year. Big Arizona tom bobcats were bringing $500+.

Called two foxes last night but they never came into shotgun range!

I started to put everything back in their totes yesterday. It got up past 80 degrees so I think hunting is done for awhile. Probably go once or twice this summer just to scratch the itch. Bigmo I think I'm jealous, Love the bobcats.
