Larger Lyman or Dillon vib tumblers/media separators

Looking to purchase a second vib tumbler in a larger size, so wondered about how the above two, or others compare. Lyman 2200 auto flo, Dillon CV 2001, or others along with a good separator?

Never used a separator before, so any insights would be helpful.

My old Lyman vib tumbler is about 35 yrs old.

I've got the two of the big Dillons. I also have the big separator. Works like gang busters on large quantities. I also run. Vibra-shine for small batches along with a Thumblers Tumbler and the small Frankford Arsenal that is do SS media in. I use a small Dillon separator on those.

U have no experience with the Lyman.

i like the current dillons much better motors
if you buy the seperator, buy a second tub to use as a cover to keep things contained.
i use to run 3 but down to just one now

Thanks for the input guys, especiallly on the motors and the second tub. The motors are the Achilles heel for these items. I know a lot of it comes from china

I have a Franklin tumbler for wet work w/o ss pins. I just don't like the way it peens the mouths of the brass.

I like my big Lyman but for one thing - the bowl is made of a hard plastic (polycarbonate?), and that makes a LOT of noise. I generally can't be in the same room with it running loaded, and it's still quite loud in the next room with the door closed. My small Frankford arsenal tumbler has a polyethylene bowl and is much quieter.

The Dillon Tumblers are good tools for the money, as are the media separators.

I also like the Thumler's tumblers in the industrial version. Not cheap, but very durable.

Yes, my old Lyman is very noisy so I put it out in the garage. I'll check into the polyethylene bowls. The one thing I really like about the newer Lyman's is that auto dump feature. Wish Dillon would do that.

The Dillon Tumblers are good tools for the money, as are the media separators.

The problem with the Thumler's is out of stock and I'm not wild about supporting the ccp. Not sure about that issue with the Dillon's, so I will call and ask. I also want to know about spare parts................especially the motor.

Are you looking for a tumbler or a vibratory bowl? If you are looking for a tumbler, I can't help. If you are looking for a vibratory bowl, I can recommend the big Harbor Freight unit. I just bought one.
