Lapua X 47mm Overall Length? Magazine needs...

I'm attempting to build a Magazine with a maximum inside length of 68 Millimeters, so we're talking no more than 2.64". Standard 308 OAL is listed as 2.8", yet I see dozens of pictures showing the Lapua 6.5mm x 47 Cartridges significantly shorter alongside 308 AMMO. Without purchasing off the shelf AMMO myself can anyone chime in? I don't reload, so this is just a simple question pertaining to OAL. Does 2.55" or 2.6" OAL Choke the Lapua? This Rifle's Goal Barrel length would be 20", yet not limited to that, anything from 16" to 26" might be used. What off the shelf Ammo is now available for this Lapua Round today? No, I can't use a standard 308 Mag it won't fit this application.

Saami OAL is listed at 2.74 and I would assume factory ammo would be around that. The factory ammo I've seen from Lapua has been between $2.50 and $3.00 a round. I can think of better ways to spend money, but to each their own I guess.

Thank you, I'm finding most who use this Cartridge load thier own. No factory AMMO here to measure, but I did find Creedmoor at 68.14 mm in Hornady. My little Super project is coming along. And yes I know handloads can better factory AMMO. Yet Id happily shoot factory Lapua 47mm AMMO In an AR15 over 5.56 thank you.

The largest Magazine I can fit in my Gun will only take a 68MM Bullet. I thought the 47mm Lapua would be an excellent choice. I see I'm mistaken. I will see If I can squeeze in 68.5 to run the Creedmoor's. Does that explain it ok?

I have created the AR15 SUPER by LAPUMO. This is an AR15 with a modified Magazine to hold 68MM Bullets. I don't have Access to any TC .30 Ammo and I found Creedmoor in that OAL. So I'm leaning towards the Creed, it is based on the TC cartridge after all. I know it's kind of backwards but you know what they say, "necessity is the mother of invention".

I shoot 6.5x47L and with 130 VLDs my OAL is 2.845,,a couple guys I shoot with are loading the 6.5 Creedmoor to the same length,,and the Creedmoor case at 1.920 is longer than the 6.5x47L case at 1.850

you might look at 6BR brass at 1.550 inches or the new Norma 6 Dasher brass at 1.60 inches

thank you Big, I finally measred the picture on Wiki and estimated the 47 was 4 mm too long to work. I purchased Creedmoor @ 68mm off the shelf and will be going with that for an off the shelf Ammo Gun.
