lapua scenars...?

How do the lapua scenars like to be seated that yall have found? Jump? Or nice and snug? Im thinking about trying some out soon just for fun cuz all ive ever ran are bergers...

If you have a good amount of time on your hands you could try simply opening a box and asking at least 5 or so what they prefer (this way you can rule out that one that likes to be different) , or you can do a seating test.

I've found that being a secant ogive makes no difference as to "What they like" it's all relative to what the barrel wants.

Have loads that shoot decent when stuffed and will also shoot when jumped (depends what powder I was using and how much neck tension)

I've had loads with tangent ogives that went against the grain so to speak with regards to "What they like" .... wish it was easier but it is not lol.

They are certainly a very nice off the shelf bullet .

Good luck.

I tried them at .005 in because my freebore is to short. they didn't like that .moved them out to .010 off and they shot very well even with the base .025 below the neck jct.

I've only tried the 7mm 180's. My seating depth tests liked .010 jump. I'll see how that works next week in Phoenix.

I jump mine 10/1000's in both my .300 WM and .260. Both shoot very well for me. Scenars are a bit light for the .300, but they are accurate.

Always heard they preferred to jump and .040" in my last barrel was awesome. New barrel shot best in a .020" jam. 308 155 Palma.
