Lapua paper box or blue box????

seems like a stupid question....but i've been searching around and i can't find any specific info. but is there a difference between the blue plastic box and paper box Lapua brass??? i've been using the blue box .223 for my varmint rigs for sometime and love the stuff...but never thought to ask????

thanks, riggs

For the .223 brass, I am not aware of any difference. It's only an issue with 6BR brass.

gotcha..i read that post...and it didn't hit me initially...but i'm guessing what everyone already knows is that the cardboard or paper box stuff is the older Lapua...and the blue box is the newer stuff with slightly different tolerances.

so if there was a store near me...and they had two blue boxes of Lapua 6BR brass..and 4 boxes of Lapua 6BR in the paper box. it's just newer and older lots...correct?

thanks Ron,

i'm more interested in the specs of the 6BR brass...not the .223 the reason behind this is because i'm building an Elesio R5 with a Borden action and Hart barrel in 6BR...and when i first get it running i want to focus on shooting it and not tinkering with the loads. i'm was hoping to run no turn brass..a varget/105 load and CCI 450 primers. i'm looking for the easiest and least intensive load i can work up that will shoot well for XC.

i'd like to be able to just pull the brass.....prime it, fill it..top it..and shoot it. and i'm just getting into this and i'm not sure which brass would be better for that purpose.

perfect..that's the info i needed. i'm sure if i talk to Jim over at Borden's and let him know what i'm looking for he'll be able to take care of the rest when he cuts/fits the barrel.

If you will need Lapua 6BR brass, better be quick. They just had another price increase, and I see that Powder Valley is once again "out of stock".
