Lapua Brass not right

I very recently recieved a new box of 6.5x55 swede lapua brass.
Upon neck sizing/truing up I noticed the brass would fit the designated shell holder. I then used my .308 shell holder and it fit fine.
I loaded up 1/2 the brass for my swedish mauser only to learn that the brass does not fit into the mauser claw as it should. That's when it dawned onme that the rim size on this brass is wrong. The swede has a unique rim thickness and diameter, but this brass has the traditional 308 rim. Is there anyone on this forum that represents lapua,so i may visit about this situation? How do I go about contacting Lapua directly?
Any feedback is appreciated.

260Ravage,
Kevin has been contacted at least once that I'm sure of. My shooting partner and I both shoot an improved version of the "Swede" and found exactly the same thing that you have described. Some brass would fit in a #1 .473 shell holder, some would require that the "Swede" holder be used and some were so oversized that we needed to tap them in with a small plastic mallet. We switched to Winchester brass for a year, but it wouldn't take the pressure that the Lapua would, so back to Lapua. I just got 200 more Lapua from a different lot and I sure hope that they are better than the first lot I purchased. You would think Lapua would have better QC than what several of us have experienced so far. BTW, welcome to the club.... ;)

This is the reason I run winchester and remington and norma brass now adays.I have run into this with prvi partisan as well. I hope Kevin can find out what is going on.

Similiar incident last year with .308 Lapua. The culprit was the Redding shellholder that was out of spec. They replaced it immediately. After that, everything was fine.

I think all the manufacturers have made some suttle change as none of my shell holders from redding, lee, and rcbs will fit every case I have. I ended up trying different holders and the rcbs #2 seemed to work also.I have had alittle trouble with a select few of .308 lapua cases being tight in shellholders I have used for years.

Anxious to find out how this turns out. I've ran into the same problem with Lapua 6br, 243, and 6.5-284 brass over the last several years. WD

I built a Swede AI several years ago on a Remington 700 action. I found out that the .308 BF would not pull Lapua cases reliably ( only 10% of the cases would extract). I elected, at the advice of the Smith, to open up the groove diameter on the Lapua brass (the minor difference in rim diameter had no ill- effect), which has worked well. Just a heads-up to Remington owners who may have rechambered to the Swede.
