Lapua 223 Ammo priced cheaper than the brass

I bought 500 they got here today. There for my daughter's 223

1,000 rounds showed up yesterday, looks great and yep, it's LAPUA match brass. So I figure I got the bullet powder and primer for free. Will use them for short range practice in the 223 Palma "trainers" and then load them back up with 80gr Bullets for mid range use. Thanks to the OP for putting the deal up on the forum.

So what I have been doing is pulling the bullet out and replacing it with a Fowler 52 grain match bullet and shooting it in my 223 Ackley 40 x. I have shot literally a dozen quarter inch groups and even shot one that was small enough it was hard to measure probably under a 16th of an inch. I found that it's a little light for fire forming so I am doing my second batch of pulled Mexican match and adding a grain of powder. It appears that it is 23.9 grains of vihtavuori n133.

The FMJ bullet that comes in it pulls very easily as I'm using a Speedy Gonzalez puller that's handheld and it works just fine.

So my second batch will be 25.0 grains of powder. Considering how cold it is and that I'm using it to fire form that should be a bit better. One of the most interesting thing is I'm checking the way to the powder as I go by using my RCBS chargemaster to throw the last grain and these things are crazy consistent for weight.

Apparently I did too good of job of spreading the word because I went back to buy another thousand and they're all gone. So Merry Christmas to everyone
