Lanolin & isopropol alchol lube mix

I am thinking about trying this given the cost of aerosol lubes is higher than a giraffes ass. When applying, I am assuming you spray with a pump bottle? Does it have a positive or negative effect if it gets inside the neck?
Any help is appreciated.

I used a spray bottle.
The mixture I liked was 1 to 8; and with 99% alcohol because it has less water than the 70%.
If the spray bottle is not used for awhile [like several weeks], the spray nozzle can get clogged with dried lanolin.

Getting some on the inside of the necks helps to reduce the variation of the amount of shoulder set back. In my experience the variation goes from +/- 2 thousandths to +/- 1 1/2 thousandths.

Sorry, no help here but, I have never bothered to clean the inside of the neck after I spray the cases.

It does get in the neck and causes powder kernels to stick, sometimes causing a powder jam
that requires a little tap to get it flowing.

This is in smaller 22 and 6mm case necks. I use an ultrasonic cleaner to get the lanolin off.

Like others have said, I use 1:10 ratio and load it in a spray bottle. I spray the inside of an old clear plastic cake box, then throw in the brass and shake it around. I clean the inside of the case necks with a rolled up paper napkin.

1 oz of Lanolin to 1 bottle of HEAT works very well!
When I started using it, I mixed it 6:1 ratio. If I sprayed heavily, I could get some very small lube dents on the case neck. So I tried the 12:1 ratio suggested by @AckleymanII and have stuck with it ever since. You can spray as heavily as you want with no fear of dents. I can also size before it evaporates off the solvent (which is really quick) and it works just as well.

If I am going to run a sizing die expander through the case necks when sizing, I spray into the necks for lube. I remove the lube by tumbling in 20-40 sieve size corn cob media for 30 minutes. Takes it all off. To get the cases uniformly lubed, I put them on a baking sheet, spray, then roll them around.

I would be happy to get a different sprayer, but I use a cheap 7 oz. hair spray bottle with a pump. Doesn't leak, gives a nice mist, and seems to last forever.

To remove the solvent after sizing, I wash the cases with Coleman lantern fuel, dump the cases in a bucket, cover with the lantern fuel. Swish the cases around in the fuel (fuel is odorless), pour the fuel back in the can with a funnel (paper towel or coffee filter in the funnel) then pour the cases out on a large towel, let fuel evaporate. I re use the fuel over and over again for this purpose. I learned this trick working for a commercial reloader back in the 60's.

Been bouncing this idea around for a while now. Was looking for a homemade alternative to one shot and have read some good reports on the IPA & lanolin combo. Down to my last 3 cans of one shot, so its time to get the ball rolling.
