LabRadar Quetion

I have read through the various threads about the LabRadar Chronograph and am considering buying one. At my home range we have to shoot through square concrete tubes that we had to install to convince neighbors that no one was holding over the range and sending rounds into their yards. I believe they are 20' long and they are bench height at the bottom of the opening and the opening is about 3' square. Anyone tried one of these units on a set up like that? Results? Screens in the tubes are hard to set up and inconsistent.

From what I read, I am assuming for bench shooting that the bench stand is the best way to hold it compared to a tripod?

Thanks , Bob

Bob, I can't answer your question about the tubes/tunnels, but I can tell you that I soon ditched the LabRadar stand and went with a small tripod. The tripod works much better for me, but I can see where stability with a tripod might not be sufficient in a high wind. I've had my LabRadar and tripod on the bench in winds up to 25 mph, but it was beginning to get wobbly.

I have mine mounted on a 12" square piece of 1/4" steel plate, and that sets on the bench..
As long as it sets just in front of the barrel depending on a brake or not you'll be fine with the tubes...

I asked a similar question because at the range I shoot at most often, they installed a timber wall with 2' high windows that you have to shoot through. I got no clear answer except that the LabRadar has a 7º beam and that bits of stuff blowing around in the beam can interfere with the readings.

Thanks Guys, I will give them a call before I drop over $700 with all the bits and pieces.
