Labradar -purpose of velocity at multiple distances

Just wondering what this is used for? We already know that the short distances it can report cannot be used to calculate BC. Is it used to get numbers to extrapolate back to get MV i.e. At the crown? If so, should the distances be spread out further or closer to get more reliable numbers?

The yardages that you pick will have absolutely no effect on the muzzle velocity that is reported. They included the ability to report velocity at various ranges downrange simply because they could. If you look at the tracking files, you will see that the Labradar is reporting a new velocity for every millisecond that it can track the bullet traveling down range.
