Labradar Firmware Update

For registered owners of a Labradar whose spam folder gobbled up the email notice . . . and for unregistered owners . . .

Labradar has a new firmware version available for download that makes the unit "mobile app ready". The app is available for Android . . . dunno about IOS.

The firmware link is: http://www.mylabradar.com/download.php

iOS came out yesterday.

I found the iOS version but had trouble. my iPad was only searching for "iPhone" Apps. My bad. I finally found it and installed it on my full size iPad. I like big letters? Hey, I'm old so give me a break!

I tested the app out with my android tablet and it kept losing the Bluetooth connection for some reason. I noticed the Bluetooth symbol on the Labradar would appear/disappear from the screen. It’s nice when it works and prevents from breaking position while in the prone.

Same issue here...

Going to contact Labradar tomorrow to see if they are aware. It seems that with the amount of time it has taken them to finally release this capability it should have been near perfect.

Same w/ the disconnecting issue on Android. I figured it was because I was using an old turd of a device. Got the iOS version today. Hoping for better results.

There has been one 'upgrade' to the app already for a connection issue. Might make sure you have the newest app installed too.

The mobile app crashed repeatedly on my Android phone.
Worked fine on our two phones. The app needs Android 4.4 or higher, and requires bluetooth and location service turned on. There must be a Labradar with 1.2.0 firmware in range. Otherwise, the app just sits there doing nothing.

I meet all of the requirements. It still disconnected several times and required a phone reboot.

Sorry everyone. The 'upgrade' I referred to was for another app that I have been working with. My age is my excuse.

I tested the app on my iPhone today for 13 rounds and it never had an issue. I armed/disarmed, changed some settings and it maintained the connection.

I’d say the issue with connectivity is with android devices based on my findings.

I can't find the app using my iPad. What did you do to search? I'm old too.

Just look in the App store and make sure you filter by iPhone Apps, not iPad. The iPhone version runs fine on the iPad.

Hey all i ran into the same disconnecting issue indoors after numerous trials. However I finally got it to connect with a stable connection. Here are some trouble shooting ideas. 1) do not pair the device though bluetooth, 2) make sure you're location asetting (GPS) and bluetooth on, 3) depending on you device your location signal maybe weak or not connected move the lbr unit outdoor to test and acquire a better loan signal, 3) try searching for the unit on the phone/device first before turning the lbr on, secondly turn the lbr on and off then refresh.

I had a theory that i could not get a proper location signal inside the house, because my location didn't show up in Google map due to being indoors. Move the unit outside and i got a better location signal and refreshed it and used step 3 and it connect up for me. Maybe you guys could help me prove my theory. :)

Bluetooth has nothing to do with GPS. My phone is 24" from unit...plenty close for Bluetooth. No other Bluetooth activity around me outside at the range. Still disconnects.

Have you tried using it for extended periods of time through numerous strings?

I'm guessing an update will eventually come out since many experience same problems....

I initially had an issue getting the new firmware to work with my iPhone, but a call to MyLabRadar fixed that issue. They spent a lot of time with me on the phone and were great. My iPad mini would not allow me to get the App and I got the same great service when I once again called MyLabradar, but we did not solve the problem. Fortunately I am 4 blocks from an APPLE store here, so this morning I will walk over and see if they can help me. I cant get the iPad into the iPhone app mode, which is the app needed on the iPad, not an iPad app.
