Lab Radar SD Card

I am getting a fatal error message on the screen of my Lab unit when the card is installed. okay when the card is not installed.
Can the card be formatted in the unit with a computer hook up? Do have a bad card?

Have you ever had a card work in yours before?

Reason I ask... My lab radar after about 2 years started giving me that error. Turned out that over time, the leads were ever so slightly out of line in the LR SD slot. So the SD card did not make contact fully with the slots leads. Some cards would register, but then after the first shot's recoil it would happen again. Basically it shook it off the leads.

So I ended taking my SD card and taping the smallest square of electrical tape to the non lead side of the card, aka the face/front with the label. Basically the tape covered the label of the card. Then it was very easy going from there.

I also learned, via Internet research, that using an actual, regular sized SD card is helpful. Not the SD cards that have a mini or micro SD card docked in it. If you have the micro SD inside the SD card adapter, you have two sets of leads to worry about.

You can format in your Windows computer if you have a way to connect it (not sure on Mac). Might be a bad card, do you have another you can try?

Can you connect the LR to your PC via USB? If you can see the card in Windows Explorer (or Mac Finder) you "should" be able to format.

Do not have anyway to connect to it. Do not have anything old enough to have a card like that.
I don't think age has anything to do with SD cards. They are an industry standard for flash cards
for portable device memory. With most computers they are read with a device called a Card Reader and not directly by the computer.
The card reader is usually the best way to read a card, it'll be quicker and easier to connect to the computer.
