KUDOS to the USPS

In spite of all of the recent delays and deliberate tampering, a small flat rate box picked up from my mailbox in Ames, Iowa about noon on Saturday is out for delivery in Pennsylvania today. Way to go folks.

Go buy a Lotto ticket. You are one of the few. Tommy Mc

I have (3) lost packages somewhere in the "system" that went wonky. (2) of the three have now arrived and one of them was sent to the dead package place because "is didn't meet the Hazmat shipping requirements; it was a 6.8 SPC 5 round magazine. Other took over a month to arrive and the third is still out there somewhere.

You'd think USPS rules would be well memorized by USPS employees, but that's not always the case. I arrived at my local USPS office to ship a Savage 243 rifle, no ammo included in the box. When I told the counter person I was shipping a rifle and wanted tracking, she told me the USPS does not allow firearm shipment.

My reply was yes you do, read your rules, it's on your website. Another more senior person chipped in with yes we do, as long as it isn't a handgun. She then began processing the sale.

By the time she finished, it was closing time, and I stepped back from the counter, receipt in hand leaving the box with rifle inside sitting on the counter.....where it remained for anyone to grab.

I stood off to the side as customers were leaving, no one behind the counter, box still on the counter, until I finally asked someone to please move the box to a more secure location, which he did.

Sometimes you just have to speak up and be your own avocate.

Strange, the USPS doesn't ship Hazmat materials and a magazine is not a hazardous material.

Shipping out of Iowa, has been a pain. I ship usually 400+ packages usps a month and the DSM center has lost a good handful of my first class stuff. Priority has been near perfect. Worst I have seen in my 15yrs in business the past 5 months.

Ordered an O2 sensor for my truck friday afternoon, from Algonquin(sp?) Illinois. Supposed to be delivered tomorrow according to tracking. I like the people in my local PO.

Well, I guess you see my point. I have a letter from the Postmaster that finally tracked the package and it clearly cites "HAZMAT"; her way of justifying USPS's F.U.

I've found that you get your best and fastest priority service if you ship on a Friday or Saturday. I've had 3 different occasions where a package was taken from my mailbox at noon and delivered in Hawaii in 2 days.

I have had failures, but USPS In my opinion does as good as it did 10 years ago. The rumor that Trump is slowing it on purpose is bullshit. My opinion

I usually can't complain about the USPS or all of the other guys for the most part as my packages/orders arrive w/in a very reasonable time frame. Now I've got a package "somewhere" tween here and there. The seller got his $$, but I no got my stuff yet. LOL:(

File a complaint with the Inspector Generals office that should cure issue..

All that really does is make YOU feel like you've done something while you wait. That said, I got (5) packages today, (2) that were in the queue and the other (3) arrived remarkably fast. Kudos USPS.

Right at the end of this video is what happens to all the packages of folks that run ruffshot on the counter person at the post office.
