Ben (Shootdots), I doubt we have ever shot in these conditions at Bayou. I think that because the targets would not handle it. I shot an 8 in my first string, and that's at 600 yards! It is hard to explain how tough the conditions were, but you had to be on your toes the entire time! I did manage to shoot a good score on the last string which is the one that got me the agg win, but I had to be very patient. I had to pick my way through it at times and others I had to "shoot and move" to keep up with the conditions. It was exhausting!
Well Erik, the "tools" you needed to even shoot to win had to come from somewhere. The point is, is that you have LEARNED to use those tools, even in the worst of conditions! That is what makes a GREAT shooter as opposed to a "decent shot".. In order to even get to the place where you could "work your way" thru every shot had to come from experience and learning from mistakes! That and the fact you don't "buckle" under the "competitive weight" is what I was lauding you about.. Now make sure you do the same for EVERY INDIVIDUAL MATCH from here on out! I want to see a "Bayou Rifles" representative take home the gold!
