Kroil, really?

I want to buy some Kroil and I've read how others say it works to get under carbon and copper fouling but does it really?

If I wet the bore and let it sit does make cleaning out the carbon and copper easier?

I'm looking for something new as I'm running out of my current solvent so looking at Kroil plus something else maybe the Bore Tech products.

I also saw Kroil with graphite, worth a try?

Thanks for looking.

I remove the fluffy carbon with water and Dawn. I let it soak for a day or two with Kroil and Hoppes mixture and about once a day run a bronze brush down the barrel 4 times one way. Now I use Sweets letting it soak 8 to 12 hours at a time between patching out until there is no blue. Then one more go around with Kroil and Hoppes About every 100 rounds I use about 10 srokes with Iosso before the final clean out with Kroil
and Hopper. Time to borescope to be sure your on track. My alternative at times to Hoppes Kroil is Montana Extreme. No brushing between relays, Hoppes Kroil only.

I wouldn't use it as a stand alone cleaner.
Bortec eliminator is pretty good stuff. Make sure you clean it out of your action. It'll turn brass black. It's sticky.
Use kroil as a flush afterwards.

Kg1 & #9 is my go to at matches.
.
Bortec, cr10, butches bore shine, jb at home.

Just the way i play !

I have been using the Original Kroil in the 8oz non-aerosol can as a bore cleaner for years and love it.

I use Kroil as an ending step. I clean with Butch’s Bore Shine and bronze brush. After a few dry patches to clean out the Butch’s I run a few wet patches of Kroil and let set a little while and then a few dry patches and done. Has worked fine for me for many years.

I push 4 or 5 soaked patches of Kroil down the bore at the range or match as soon as I can after shooting. Once Home, I use Boretech products. Once the barrel seems clean, I use Kroil on a bronze brush as a finishing touch. Since I started applying Kroil at the range, my barrels seem to clean up quicker but I couldn't prove it.

Kroil/Shooters Choice 50/50 works well in my rimfires, two wet patches, soak for a bit, short stroke the throat with nylon brush , wet patch, dry patch.

Borescope verified.

Fightin the carbon

If I'm cleaning my rifle "tomorrow" I'll soak a patch with it and let it sit overnight.

It's super thin, so like Dusty said, it creeps REALLY well.

Ive had a lot of luck with the Pro-shot products stuff (below). Im using it on 308 bolt action and 9 mm pistol. Cleans the carbon up nicely. I also like the viscosity. Goes where you want it, will run and spread out a little but stays on the parts you lube. I cycle the action and wala it spreads itself around but wont really drip off. Plus it has a really nice aplicator. In addition made in the USA if that matters to you.

So you use oil to clean your barrels?
