Kroger now Anti Gun

Went in to my local Fred Meyer/Kroger store and while they had some pistols in the cases, all long guns were just gone. '21 and over' sign on the counter and no one around manning the area. Went across the street to Walmart.

They quit selling gun related magazines and books also. I'm totally boycotting anything Kroger's. Gave the canned food to the food bank.

i would like to see some back up data to support the antigun part. normally hand guns are the first to go , and the keep "hunting" stuff around. this seems the opposite. there is also just not selling stuff, so you get out.

If you have an Aldi's nearby, buy everything you can from them and just supplement from other stores. It's knocked 30% to 40% off our grocery bill. Their product lines have improved over the years. I still buy most meats from a local store that has it's own butcher shop so you know what you're getting.

Close by, we only have a Walmart and Kroger. Since a Save-a-lot went out of business, Walmart's prices have really shot up, close to Kroger's levels.

a little off,,when the big stores show up in town, the small shops that have been for years and have supported the town wind up locking the doors,,but if you pay attention to your local
polititions and chamber of commerce ,they are the who gave away the farm to get them there,,therefore you have less choice

was in my local wally the other day and i told the guy at the gun counter
"well i guess ill have to wait until im 21 to buy a gun here now":D he said yeah and they even took airguns that look like ar-15s off the shelf. didnt know kroger went as far as you say though --ill check the local one

Kroger did this on the first day- right before dicks did. There was a post on here and was surprising because nobody even knew why a grocery store sold guns to start with.

The long gun rack (two of them) were full one day and completely empty the next. Handguns still in their display cases.
Displays for products unrelated to any sport were put up in the long gun racks.

the only reason i bring it up, is other stores have changed their marketing without removing guns completely.
dick's was stupid and are paying the price.
walmart stopped handguns almost 30 yrs ago, but kept rifles....BUT they adjusted stores to the market.
rural stores have a much bigger firearms section than city stores. some last everything just for it to come back a couple years later.

all the better.. Kroger can sell food.. and our little gun shop can sell guns. Win win.

Finally someone has got it right. Why in the world do we want “Big Box Store” selling firearms. The $$$ just goes to make them bosses richer.
Keep it at a local store!!! Atleast your $$$ will help pay for a home coming dress, kids braces, collage funds and so on. Plus the locally owned stores tend to support your local shooting sports per say 4-H clubs and so on.

Ok rant over
