One Ton Of 5.56 Ammo

Old Navy

Gold $$ Contributor
I was watching the local SLC news last night about a local gun store that had a line around the block when they opened yesterday. Seemed the owner received a large shipment of 5.56 and had advertised it. They were interviewing him in the store in from of a couple tables stacked with Winchester 5.56 62 grain ammo. The sigh on the table said: 200 round limit per customer per day. He must have had a lot for that high a limit. The story went on to say he had 2K customers that day and over 800 sales. I hope this is a sign of better things to come.

The total ammo sold is actually more than a ton.
Assuming all 800 'sales' were for 200 rounds and each round weighs ~ 170 gr, that's 3885lbs of just rounds - i.e., not including any packaging.

I'm impressed.

That store is about the only place in the area that’s had any ammo and reloading supplies. They have a line every day waiting for them to open.

I’m familiar with Gunnies; they’re a solid outfit and don’t participate in gouging. That’s probably why everyone was there. Im sure they weren’t charging $1 a round for it like some.
