Krieger or Bartlein best barrel

My Krieger is hard , Bartlein softer to machine, Krieger says ( solvent wont hurt them ) both shot well but I prefer
Krieger
I've had a few barrels which have lasted for years, were hard to ream according to my gunsmith and have lasted for 1000s of rounds, but I end up never using them in big comps, the "hard" barrels often seem more finicky. I would rather a "soft" barrel which is nice and constant for 1000 rounds before a rechamber, than a barrel which is just not quite right for 3000 rounds. But then again, my last few Bartlein 7mm short mags have been going well in big comps for longer than most people recommend so no issues with barrel life there. I wonder if there is a direct correlation between barrel life and "hardness"?

Could possibly explain why you don't see Walther Lothar barrels on F-class guns, the steel used in those is reportedly extremely tough.

I took it as both barrel brands have the same 'quality' - so it comes down to who has better customer service.

I just have a question for you all. I am building a 6.5-7LRM. I want a 5r 1-8 twist ans ss. I am thinking a LT Palma or a Sendero in a Bartlein or a Krieger. How's barrel do you guys think would do the best for this project. Using a rem 700 la bdl and the new manners EH4 with the bdl chassis.

yes

I'm not quite following your question.

Problems or issues with a barrel that happened in production. IN my life, issues with top quality barrels are rare, if not very rare. However, if or when they do happen, you need to have complete confidence in the maker backing up their quality.

I have not had to deal with Bartlein on an issue as they are a relatively new company, but Krieger sets an incredibly high bar for customer satisfaction in my experience. This is not to say that Bartlein would not be the same. Shilen and Hart have also given World Class service.

If you do have an issue, don't go on the internet badmouthing a company until you have contacted them about an issue. You are a immature low life if you do! Most of these companies know their Life's Blood is in making customer satisfaction the Key to their continued success.

All the Krieger an Bartlien that I have installed were brought to me I don't know anything about there customer service I would think it would be good if they want to stay in business.
Your equations are very well put sir I wish most here takes to heart what you just said thanks for that.

Lets see .....I currently have a Kreiger 5r 30" on my F-TR , .308 and it's a excellent shooter . Mid to high 190's consistently . The back-up is a Brux 4 groove , 1 - 10 twist 30" . My Open rifle has a 30" Bartlein 1-10 30" - MTU . And I think it might be a very "special" piece . Too early to tell . No favorites in this crowd . Just quality barrels . Pick one .
