Kimber SVT .17M2

Hey everyone...I was thinking of picking up a Kimber SVT .17M2. Impressive stats on that round and Kimber obviously makes beautiful rifles. But I was wondering if anyone had bought one yet or at least shot one. Be nice to hear what you thought as it's an expensive piece of hardware.

I have been really happy with my .22 SVT. It is a great car gun and shoots some cheap Remington ammo into tight little clusters.

I've been wanting an HM2 myself, but can't make up my mind whether I should get another SVT or another Anschutz.

Atticus-before you decide to buy the.17hm2, please read that article "varmintal.com" has posted on his test results of this cartridge and the equipment he used to check it out with. You might fare better with the .17hmr. The .17hm2,marlin)I bought was better, flatter shooting) than a .22 long rifle cart., but nothing like the .17hmr,anschutz) I later purchased. Do yourself a favor and read his article on .17hmr/hm2-Steve

No problem Steve I found it. Compelling article. Though I balance it with a quote from Dieter Anshulz " Most accurate rimfire cartridge I've ever seen" referring to the .17M2. Be nice to "rent" a rifle for a while before committing, wouldn't it? I can think of at least two case where it would have saved me a good bit of money and frustration. Again thanks.

The big draw for the M2 for me is that the HMR is just a little too loud to shoot without hearing protection. Arguably, I should probably be wearing some anyway, but I'd really rather have something as quiet as a .22 LR.
