KIDD versus Vudoo

I'd sure like to see this in real life repeatable groups. I jumped in both feet on the 22 PRS/NRL type shooting and I hear these claims all the time. To date I can't find anyone to show me a real life display.
Usually I hear 1 hole and 1/4 inch groups at 100, which frankly I find humurous. I'm going to be match director for our first club match of the season and one of my stages is going to be a 1" @ 100, 2" at 200 and 3" at 300. We will see how all of these guys do. I suspect a quite humbling outcome.
My groups are from a bench, with Bi-pods and rear bag. They will not happen in field conditions of a match, maybe prone.

Jbell,
All 3 will shoot sub moa out to 200 yds. consistently under good condition. I have post many group pics on here and Sniper Hide. If the wind gets up, I will see groups string horizontally, 1" to 1.5" high. They are not lucky or cherry picked. I have shot 0.5" at 150yds and 1" at 200yds, but they are in the lucky and few groups. I shot a steel match out to 200yds last year, I came in first with the Tikka and second with the Kidd, ahead of 3 Vudoo's. At that range, it all about the ammo and the shooter knowing how to dope the wind. My guns like SK, Eley Club and Wolf.

Well that is very solid shooting!

I like my KIDD and my Cz457VPT, they both like different ammo and the vudoo I have yet to buy one. Not saying I will ever spend the money but I would not like it if I bought one and it didn't shoot better than the rest of my .22's. I think it mostly comes down to the luck of the draw and the right ammo. I tried Lapua center X and Midas, none of my .22's liked it at all, Sk and Wolf shot the best then RWS and CCI SV. >.22's seem so finicky when it comes to ammo, lot to lot or different brands and speed makes the biggest difference. Its a wonder the rimfire gun manufacturers don't sell ammo for the guns they make.

I absolutely love my Vudoo. I giggle every time I send a round down range and smile when I go down to the target to triangulate the shot groups.

I will add a KIDD to the family soon.

A very good read here. Many top tier guns tested with top tier ammo in a controlled environment and the human free influence of a machine rest. These are typical of the guns this thread speaks of and are not necessarily dedicated IBA bench guns.

You might want to cut to the chase and convert all the mean groups or the best mean group from the most accurate gun from metric to decimal. Anything less than using the mean lacks empirical value.

Here I did it for you. 10 top flight guns. Best 100 yard 10 shot average gun was the 2500 and the OD was 28.329 which converts to 1.115". Subtract .22 and you get .895" ctc. Very impressive IMO.

Worst is 33.89 which converts to 1.334" subtract .22 and its 1.114" which IMO is also quite impressive.

Personal experience in building a half dozen guns now tells me with a bag and bipod off a bench I can produce guns that will shoot sub MOA many times with 5 shot groups at 100. As soon as you start collecting multiple test series such as the 6x5 test you lose that edge and they become barely under or at MOA guns.
As soon as you switch to 10 shot groups my guns produce at and just under MOA groups on occasion, not the norm. With multiple test series it jumps to over MOA and they are somewhere in the 1.25" range on average bench, bipod, bag in good field conditions. This is pretty bad ass under field conditions regardless of wind speed or direction. IMO

The same field conditions at 200 have not once produced a sub MOA 10 shot group for me if I count them 10 for 10 as fired. I have shot many 5 shot groups under MOA at this distance but even then they are no where near the norm. Vertical on all the ammo I have shot is the killer at the longer ranges and I have shot ctrX the most in my personal gun.
Additionally there have been zero instances where anyone has personally shown me a repeatable sub MOA gun at 200 yards to date and I happily challange all comers.

I truly want to get to the heart of the rimfire potential with field style guns/conditions but I think there is so much false info out there its very dicfficult.

I've had 4 different Anschutz rifles; two 54 action and two 64s. All target guns. My CZ 452 shot as well if not better than the Annies. They are gone and I have a Vudoo on order. IMO, Annies are way over rated and overpriced.

I am curious, were the 54 match actions? and were they factory rifles?

Overpriced, yes. As a factory gun overrated, no. I guess your just lucky.

No Vudoo yet, but have one on order. Comparing my KIDD with my Lithgow LA101, the Lithgow is more accurate but not by much. At 50 yards, the KIDD will shooting just inside of 1/2" at 50 yrds. It like Lapua Center X and Eley Match. The Lithgow will shoot 3/8" at the same range and definitely prefers Midas+.

Some pics of the Lithgow on its first outing.

I have a KIDD Supergrade, Anschutz 64 and a Vudoo V-22...there is no comparison. The Vudoo will shoot well inside the other two all day everyday. For those interested I have shot a 6x5 on the hide that averages .186 that was shot outdoors off an Atlas bipod and rear squeeze bag using SK ammo.
