Why is it that 4895 keeps popping up now on 223 loads?

My guess: It works anywhere from satisfactory to excellent in a wide variety of cartridges, so most of us have a pound or two lying around at all times, whether we have much else or not that might work in any given cartridge.

Jeremy has it right, Varget was my go-to for the 223 but with the shortages 4895 was a logical try from my limited powder supply.Very happy, so far, with the results.
