Kenyon Triggers

New to this forum.
I have a 52D which I purchased about 1964? For gallery shooting with the ROTC at my college. Extremely accurate with International sights but it always has had a horrible trigger.
I have always wanted a Kenyon trigger. Is that company still making triggers for the C/D models.
Or is there anything remotely close to Karl's product? I hate to say it but my pre-52A serial 0002x, has a better trigger than the D - my C model Sporter is better.
I have never been impressed with Canjar or Timney products.
I am now in my 70s but would really like to put that D on aBR bag with one of my Unertls for old time sake. I am afraid all of my schuetzen rifles with their set triggers have spoiled me.
Thx and 73.

Mr. Kenyon passed away several years ago and he hand made each trigger. They are occasionally available on eBay and other misc sources, but there is not really an equivalent replacement.

Win52 - I bought two 52Ds through the CMP several years ago, and was fortunate enough to get both triggers sent off to Karl while he was still in good enough health to re-work them. Also have an Anschutz 1400 prone rifle, and though I prefer its trigger to the two Kenyon 52s, the difference in the quality of the break is so tiny that I believe the only advantage the Anschutz has is that it's a 2-stage - and that's only a factor because I shot service rifle for so long that I got used to a 2-stage. I don't know of anyone who's currently copying the modifications that Karl used to perform on 52 triggers, but wouldn't be surprised if there was just such a person out there - somewhere. Good luck finding him, if he exists...

He's out there, and has worked two of my triggers for me. They are very nice and crisp at 6oz's.

I saw the post that someone out there is copying the modifications that Karl used to perform on 52 triggers. I have a trigger that needs work and I was wondering if I could get the name and contact info for that person please. Thank you.

Ok, I spoke to the guy who did my two triggers. He said ok to post his name and phone for anyone that wants to give him a try. Name is Peter and his phone is 845-469-2657 He lives in NY (not the city) and does 52 D-E trigger jobs. Mine are set at about 8 oz's but could maybe go lower. I do know the guy so take that into account. On Rimfire Central he uses the name 'dokey'.

I just came across this, Karl Kenyon was my great half uncle and lived in Ely, NV. I remember in the 90's I wanted a bull barrel on my ruger 10/22, before the plethora of shelf models were around, he cut down an Anschutz barrel off an olympic rifle with a worn chamber, and had that thing on the dot! He cut the dove tail with a saw and files, I thought he would use the mill, he was master craftsman and refused to go work for Winchester decades earlier because they required him to move. He also did a nice trigger for a rem 700, wish I would have picked up one of his triggers! He loved rim fire stuff and did not care for center fire stuff, but that was where the green backs were! My sgt had his duty pistol acting up and dropped by, and Karl made a team of military shooters visiting for work, wait while he gave my sgt priority! His children never wanted to learn the craft and after offering, said he would not have enough time to teach me all his tricks of the trade. They just don't make those old timers like that any more and he will be missed :(

I have a 40xr 24 "cannon and Kenyon trigger and I lower it to less than 1 oz if I want and I like this trigger more than the Jewel I use it for mini-silhouette competition here in Mexico

I do the kenyon modification on the Winchester 52 C, D and E's micromotion triggers. My email address is

Yes, agreed on the Remington 37 miracle trigger needing a current expert. Mine is very good, compared to others stock triggers, but a Kenyon version of a 37 trigger would make my rifle a dream to shoot.

Okay, a 37 to drool over... bought as barrelled action, built by Karl Kenyon. Kenyon sleeved the action and fitted one of his triggers. A&M barrel, Hoehn tuner. Stock built for it for me by Doan Trevor in NM. A dream to shoot! NFS!
