Kelblys F class Panda vs Golden bear

Bringing up another topic regarding aluminum actions vs steel.

What are shooters experience with heavy (no contour) barrels and magnum calibers when using an F class panda vs other steel receiver?

Is steel better than aluminum? Is there flex involved?

The extra weight is good until it isnt...I had one I had to put on a diet and one i put
a heavier scope on to make more weight...
I like the Panda action but the Borden has become
my new favorite...( Its probly just the right combination of parts coming together.)
I dont feel one is better than the other really.
What do you like more about the Borden actions?

I dont think one is better than the other is what I said. But the Borden happens to be working real well with my current Brux barrel and Kestros stock combination..real well and shooting just a bit smaller.
The Panda is also on a Kestros and Brux barrel and shoots really well...but just happens to be the backup gun at present.
( I dont think I could go wrong with either....and I didnt. )

Is the Borden a pinned recoil lug or monolithic?

Its Bolted into the Action midpoint where the Panda is machined as part of the Action near the tenion.
If i remember correctly. Pinned or Monolithic has not made any difference as to how my rifles shoot.
Either or will serve you well and I think it just comes down to what you are looking for or your preference.

They are both smooth and work well. The Panda is Aluminum with steel insert and lighter so
people shooting FTR prefer it for weight savings. I prefer it for the longer barrel I can use and heavier scope.
The Borden is heavier and can be a challenge in staying under 22 lbs sometimes if you dont choose the right combination of parts...Theres so many ways to slice the pie..so to speak.
How long a Barrel do you want and what stock your using and your Optics...etc.etc..

You will not find any better customer service than the Kelby’s! I have 4 F Class actions I have no need to look at any other action. There are two national record holders on this thread shooting a Kelby’s action the proof is in the pudding.

I hope everyone is well! This is a fun thread to read through.

We are now making our Prometheus action in a Single Shot to fill the void that the Golden Bear left. Luckily, the Prometheus is much lighter but all integral rail, recoil lug, and made of 416RS. It's a Remington 700 footprint with our standard Atlas tenon on it. Price is the same as the repeaters and it weighs in as a short action at 34 ounces.

Have an awesome day everyone!
