K Hornet

Anybody shoot one?
Took mine out for a test run today to check the scope and get ready for the coyote hunting this week
Anyone else use a K for coyote's?

I do not hunt but for some reason I'm kind of a Hornet nut. I'd like to add a K one day.

Yes and it's effective. Where I'm at, shots are generally 150 yards, or less.

I have four. A Ruger 77/22H, a Stevens 44-1/2, a Winchester 1885 and a home-made swinging block single shot. You might say that I like them. I also have 2 other rifles based on the Hornet, 17 Ackley Hornet and 19 Calhoun. If you like to reload, I believe the Hornet is hard to beat when shooting colony vermin.

Greg Tannel cut my chamber to K and I like it very much. It's a 77/22H Ruger and it damn near approaches 222 velocity with the Calhoon 42hp. I've shot coyotes with the regular Hornet and wouldn't hesitate to carry the K out again for them.

I've got a T C Contender Carbine with a .22K Hornet 20" barrel.
Leupold on top-Fred Smith made the barrel for himself then the TCA raffled
it off and I won it for $5.00. Extremely accurate.

40g Speer spire points are excellent for coyotes. IN addition, the ogive design of this bullet allows the bullet seated to touch the lands at magazine length.
