Yep those barrels were 8 grooves. Like the Marlin micro groove barrels it was thought more grooves more grooves more accuracy. If you looked at it with the Hawkeye don't let the machine marks disturb you. They are very good barrels.I tried to ascertain throat condition of this Sako L461 I acquired.
