Just another 222 Remington

I tried to ascertain throat condition of this Sako L461 I acquired. Using a Hawkeye I got dizzy trying to count the lands/groove

I have two of them. One was my Grandfathers that I shoot sparingly and another I bought to shoot a lot. I bought a ton of 35 and 40 grain bullets from nilebartram a couple years ago. If you want to try some, let me know and I’ll put them in the mail.

52Barts Original, N133, Lapua brass
This setup has shot more 0’s and 1’s than any of my rifles.

Yep those barrels were 8 grooves. Like the Marlin micro groove barrels it was thought more grooves more grooves more accuracy. If you looked at it with the Hawkeye don't let the machine marks disturb you. They are very good barrels.
