joystick operation?

Received my new used joypod this week and I've had a strange few days shooting 3 best-ever target or match scores while feeling like I'm struggling badly with the joystick.

The crosshairs want to jump across the x-ring in one nudge, especially vertically. I spend forever trying to get it exactly centered, settle for slightly off or at worst snatch the trigger as it's crossing center.

Is this something that automatically improves over a few weeks?

Have any tricks?

Is the joypod more sensitive than rests?

thanks

my Joy pod is smooth as butter. I am guessing here so I might be wrong but I think that either your linkage may need some tweaking and readjustment or perhaps some lubrication just my 2 cents

Kzin,

Mechanically speaking the Joypod internal has the same principle as the NEO, MAX and Mini. I only add the cant feature and minimize the weight.

Set properly they would hold F-TR/Open gun and would always keep in the X under good gun handling and good wind call.

Basically the joystick must stay in place even when it's no rifle or weight on the top.
However with time, some would move up (due to less friction & the internal up-lift springs) but there still must be some resistance in mechanism. If the joystick moves up "freely" you need MORE TENSION.

You can give more tension via the set screw located under the bearing (#1) or by the two tension screws on the front side (#2). Usually both.

Try this:
First loosen the two tension screws on the front side (use 2.5mm allen wrench) and move the joystick rapidly up-down and in circular motion. It must move freely and most likely the top will move up by itself.

You may need to tighten the small set screw located under the front bearing i.e. to give more tension on the front bearing, which will also add the resistance up & down + add rotational resistance of the center shaft.
Re-tighten the two tension screws on the front.
Then check how the joystick moves now.

This video might probably help to understand the setting / how it works...

Let me know how it works for you.

The set screw located under the bearing... on 2.00-2.05
The two tension screws...2.09-2.15
Joystick has some up/down resistance... 3.00-3.03
Ideal setting is after 3.10

Thank you very much!

I will experiment with that adjustment process but I don't know if tension is the issue.

The joystick is 'faster" than I would ideally like. The crosshairs move farther relative to the input on the stick.
I assume this is mechanically determined at design time and not adjustable.

Probably I have a clumsier ''touch' than most shooters.

I'm thinking about an extension to the stick but I don't have room for much more length.

My elbow and some of my forearm are on my mat.

Better support/bracing is on the list of things I've been thinking about.
