There are a great many patriotic Americans left and many more coming up. They just seem to be in the shadows lately. Back in 1965 or so Paul Harvey did a Rest of the Story about "If I were the Devil".

The duke is #1 and always will be. I patterned my life around his movies and it hasn't steered me wrong yet. (moo!)

The "Duke" is the man! He was the ambassdor to american patriotism in my time. But this vibe is long gone and i can say that I really dont like what young folks have to say today and I feel I must reeducate they!

When my father was stationed at Ft Huachuca in AZ, him and a couple buddies went into a bar in SierraVista and the Duke was in there. The Duke called them over, ask them what they were drinking, then commenced buying them a Scotch. He was there filming a movie and visited with them for a spell.

at work we have a picture of The Duke with the saying "Life is hard. It's harder if you're stupid" under his picture. Whether or not this can correctly be attributed to Mr Wayne of not, it sure is fitting.
