Anyone try this tuner that was designed with help from PRX formula author himself Tony Purdy. My barrel is 28 inch in total length with the muzzle 1-5/16 with a larger dia. If I order from Killough's how long to get it. Any suggestions or history with this tuner or supplier? Thank you for your consideration.

I don't use the phone any more because of my poor hearing. I have sent emails to KSS and no response of yet but it's only been three days. I also sent the numbers to mr Purdy the same day. The PRX III tuner may better serve smaller barrels. I thought maybe someone on this site may have tried it. My barrel has a dia of .950 with a muzzle dia of 1.063 which is a lot larger that what the PRX is prescribed for.

You would probably be ahead to just start tuneing it on your own to get the muzzle stopped. Then check it against the PRX formula. I used it on one barrel and it worked fine to my supprise. But other barrels not so much. When Im tuning with a proven good lot of ammo and think I may have a good setting, I'll shoot fast ammo then slow ammo. When fast and slow both group tite, your close. Don't pay attention to the point of impact, only roundness of your groups. Once you find the sweet spot, your done. If you try to tune a bad lot of ammo to your gun, you will chase your tail and be a tuner twister. I have a competive rifle that hasn't had the tuner touched in over 15 years, it's taped down, so don't believe the guys that say every new lot has to be retuned, not true at all. Most of them don't shoot rimfire Br, they just talk about it. You can also hit a "fake tune" that's a tune that shoots tiny groups in no wind but falls apart when the wind kicks up. A rifle with a compleatly stopped muzzle shoots through the wind better. A complete set of flags is a must also, without them you are just wasting ammo. Good luck and have fun!
I just got a answer from Joe' wife . She wrote the 28 barrel is too long for accuracy. They recommend cutting the barrel to 24 inches and install a tuner. But would make a tuner for my rifle as is. The man I baught the rifle from shot it at West Point competition for two years in the early seventies and it was amazingly accurate with winchester Eley ammo. He just kept it until I baught it from him this spring. The military worked on the rifle to make it more accurate. I have not shot it yet but I can tell you I won't purchase a PRX III tuner for this rifle.
