JLK Bullets

Anyone shooting JLK bullets these days? If so, good or bad results? More specifically I am looking at 140gr 6.5mm.

The 140 grain JLK is a VLD bullet. JLK only make LD ( low drag ) and VLD ( Very Low Drag ).

In my 6.5 47L they shot very well, give them a call at the Swamp Works and have them send you a few to try. I just bet you will like them.

i just shot some JLK 140's out of my 6.5x284.

I was useing RL 17 and shot a couple of 4 shot groups <.200 , as you know, each rifle likes different loads and bullets.

I bought a 500ct box of the new Lapua "L's" ( I believe 137's) so I hope to have a load perfected by this weekend, or I may have to shoot the 130 Berger VLD's I have.

I have been shooting JLKs for many years now and I like them very much. I would appreciate it if you didn't start threads about JLK bullets on this forum; the last think I need is for my competitors to start using these bullets.

I use the .308 180gr JLK LBT, which I push out of my 32 inch barrel at about 2850FPS. It performed well for me in Raton and they were brilliant at the just concluded TSRA LR Championship.

I order them months ahead of time, and in lots of 2,000. I don't have to trim them or point them; they are little jewels of jacketed high-speed lead projectile technology.

PS; please don't tell anyone.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. I had emailed JLK several days ago and received no response, so I wasn't sure if there email back log was like mine and they were not able to get to it or if they were still manufacturing bullets? I will give them a call.

I guess while we are at it, I ran across Precision Ballistics web page and contacted Mr. Lahr and he responded almost immediately. I plan to order a few hundred of his vlds just to try as well. Really nice fellow and super responsive if any of you have any interest.
