jlk bullets

just finished reloading 100 223 rem with 60 gr jlk's only to find there were only 98 bullets in the box,
I will never buy jlk bullets again. jkh171

You may change your tune after you shoot them. Some of the best 224 bullets that I have ever fired are the 65gr LDs.

Easy to make an error like that. I've actually done this once or twice myself. That's why I try to throw in a few extras if I have them. Its an honest mistake. I'd say 99.9% of the people in the shooting game are very honest and I'm sure JLK would appreciate knowing.

Good Shooting

Interesting first post!

JLK bullets has always been fair with me and several of my friends. As stated, I am sure it's a mistake.

If I had two of the bullets, I would send them to you. I have them in every other caliber, just don't have any for 223's.

They must be out to get you. Be offended and don't let 'em get away with it. Definitely go on every shooting forum and tell how badly you've been wronged. Hire a lawyer and sue their @ss off. That'll show 'em. Or....you could just give them a call.

LMAO ;D

Again, if I had two of them, I would personally send the two bullets to him.

No keep hating them. I need less competition.

Good Point, ;)

jkh171, JLK bullets if you don't already know is a small company owned by someone who actually does give a damn about what he makes and theres a lot of folks on various forums including me who think that Swampys bullets are without equal. Now if after you shoot the other 98 and are not pleased with the results then come back and bitch about them.

Ummm....

I've never had Swampy's bullets come in a box, and I've never seen him package them by the 100. He's always (as far as I can remember) sold them in multiples of 125.

Did you buy them directly from Swampworks? If not, you do realize that you could have had a middleman repackage them right?

I have always recieved them by the bucket, 500ct, and love all of them! In fact, last order Swampy put a few extra in for me! I didn't know he sold in smaller boxes!

There could be a middleman, never thought of this, . . .

I purchased two cardboard boxes of older JLK 105"s off a fellow member that were packaged in 100 count but as i said they were old stuff.

Two years ago was the last time I ordered from Swampy, he was out of .224, 75 grain bullets, I bought 250 rounds of 80 grain from a ready to ship cancelled order, otherwise I had to put my name on the list for the next run of 75's, which was approximately three months out...

for some reason i was under the impression that bullets were weighed, not counted. if so, then your 98 weighed as much as 100 should. there could be one that is way out of spec, or there could be 2 or 6 or 25 or 31... all custom bullets are a BARGIN. when you understand the amount of time and effort these people put into making each bullet i am amazed they don't cost more, and i would still be willing to pay that fee. when you buy custom brass and come up one short, that's ok. if you have 1 or 2 extra, how many of us ship these back? right. if more people wouldn't order from jlk, then my first order might come earlier...his 65 vlds should shoot bugholes in my new 22 BR. cheers.

Even 20 years ago, before Swampy took over, JLK's were sold in increments of 125.

I hate to alienate a new member, but one post, a slam on a known good business, where the details don't add up, nor does the poster return and speak again just seems fishy to me. I've heard of individuals that do unsavory things for their own benefit via the internet and somewhat anonymously. I certainly hope that isn't what is going on here.

So, JKH171, our new friend, please let us know what is going on. There are a lot of us here who are good, valued customers of JLK and want to help you if something came out wrong. We know the owner well through years of phone calls and orders. He is a good man, and will make it right if your order did not come out right to begin with.

This thread very quickly evolved into an excellent advertisement for JLK, although I doubt he really needed it. One idiotic rant from an unknown and then dozens of seasoned shooters disputing the claim based on years of dealing with JLK. Shooters take care of their own!

Update: I had two other unopened boxes, so I opened them and counted them - again 98 bullets per box!
These boxes are black plastic similar to the green sierra boxes. They have a yellow label with a Ar address
( original JLK ) and are marked 100 count. I do not mean to be derogatory to jlk, But NOBODY likes to get
screwed - JKH171
