I am posting pictures of Jim's 6mm Dasher built on a Bat tucked in a low rider stock. He will chime in later and provide the details of his new rig.

Is that a Harrells brake? And why did you choose it? What is the bore diameter of the brake?

Nice looking rig.....now....how does it shoot? Can't wait for Jim to gives us the details.

The action is a Bat B with the mods done to the firing pin, left bolt left eject. Brux HV. barrel @30" 1 - 7.83 twist with a Harrels brake. The stock is a modified low rider in Devcon and pillared with 7 coats of clear coat. It's weighted and balanced and the trigger is a Kelbly set at 2 oz. The barrel was done by Dave Bruno, the rest was done here. It had 5 break in rounds out of it and now it 20 degrees the rest will have to weight. The stock was made by Precision rifle & tool.......jim

beautiful rifle bet it shoots well too& too second hogpatrol if my gun bench was that neat& clean i wouldnt be able to find anything regards shooter.

I wish i could say that was mine but it is at Chucks house when he was taking the pics. It's a new bench and it has not had the time to get the real look yet. The other thing i for got to mention was it's a Dasher and a .266 neck,.155 free bore and a chamber length of 1.560. I am building a bench now that i cleared out for the range back of the house.........jim

NICE build Jim. I too am building a new DASHER using the PR&T 'Low Boy' stock. I really like the idea of the lower center of gravity. Mine will hopefully be complete in a week or two.

Just curious about the .155 FB; what are you shooting that requires the .155? I always worried about starting with a long free-bore and then woorying about throat erosion. Hopefully it just one of those old-age things that I worry about and will really have no effect. :)

I shoot the 115 DTAC. and you jump them so the heel of the boatail is at shoulder neck area, anything shorter doesn't work. Now i'm planning a test with 105 hybrid and they seem to like to be jumped also,so the heel is in the same location. A lot will will have a problem with that but it works for me. As far as throat advancement i don't find that the case, i find no need to chase it, if the level of accuracy drops off below.2 and there are a high number of rounds down the tube put on a new barrel. I used a .136 free bore before and it put the heel below the shoulder neck area, i feel it was perfect for the 105 but the hybrid needs more.......jim

Jim; I am also going to give the 105 Hybrids a try (when the snow stops). From what I have read they work really well and don't require much tuning (I love that part).
Good luck with the new gun; hope it shoots lights-out!!

They haven't shot the lights out but they deserve an other look. they grouped around .2+ so it ain't nothing to rite home about, cause the 115's shoot in the low 1's...jim

I just have to tell two things, the new one is a hammer and with the new 105 Hybrid. I just finished my testing of these bullets and in the Panda with the Kreiger the groups were: .211,.208,.185 and.164. I set the Bat low rider up the same, groups were.233,.223 moved the seating depth in .003 it shot a .157 moved it in .003 and it shot a .084. All are 5 shot groups and i will say the Hybrids are real thing............jim

Jim, how far are you jumping the bybrids in the last
group that shot in the zero's?

At what distance were these shot at? and have you tested those same loads at 1k?
Im curious to see if they keep their tune out to 1k.

Thanks

I do my load testing at 100 yds.,if it doesn't shoot there it isn't worth going to 1K. I never shot these new loads but i will, the old loads were shooting in .2 shot in 5"at 1K. I see no reason to waste a barrel testing at mid ranges unless i plan to shoot there.......jim
