JEWELL TRIGGERS -- Future Prospects

I was hoping by now that someone w/deep pockets would have bought the
company and I could go back to work. At this late stage of the game, there must have been some legal issues that prohibited the company from being sold. Looks like I will just settle for being handsome rather than handsome and RICH. Just sayin. LDS

It,s a shame they are just 45 miles from me. Tommy Mc

So how does Timney, Jard, Bix and Andy et all do it? Magic? The fact is you can buy the patents and tradenames and form a limited liability company. I suspect the current owners simply have not decided to sell it .
I think those would be prime potential buyers, but what do I know? An existing trigger mfg adding Jewell to their offerings just seems like a no brainer to me. Must be something up but no idea what.

Has anybody used the Timney Benchrest Trigger.

3 to 6 ounces is not half bad. I would be curious as to how close it’s inner workings are to the Jewell.
And the Shilen Competition Triggers are not a bad option. I recently installed one on a friend’s.22 RF rifle. Out of the packaging was perfect. Probably around 2 oz. No creep or over travel. Is fully adjustable.

I don't understand the question. Adding the jewell trigger lineup to any one of their current lines speaks for itself, I think.
Jewell triggers patent expired several years ago. They lost a lawsuit concerning their continued use of the patent number on their triggers along with Brownells.
They only assembled the triggers from parts made by outside vendors. I don’t see anything to sell.

Well, considering that no one has jumped in to make an equivalent trigger at their very reasonable price, I’d have to say the patent wasn’t protecting them, it was obligating them to “see a dream through”, - and we were the beneficiaries.

There are some fine triggers made, - for the price of an entry level 1911 handgun. They cost twice as much and yet that confidence of the “heft” of those perfectly made parts hasn’t quite been repeated.

Their triggers gave me the impression they could outlast me, and honestly, in contrast,I have been half afraid that I was shipped an empty box when some of the others arrive, now.

do they make a straight trigger version or can I,put a straight trigger from a trigger tech into the shilen body ?
