Is it possible to modify a top safety model by purchasing the bottom safety lever, and swapping them out? I have looked at the diagrams of two trigger models and it looks to me as if the triggers are the same but have different levers.
The reason I'm asking is that I've had scare to where the safety must have caught on my clothing or something else, taking a rifle off safety. I'm a safety fanatic, and if this requires no modification, just a simple swap of levers, I'd like to do this--I have 4 rifles with Jewell top safety triggers. (I think the safety in the trigger guard would be much less likely to be accidentally activated.)
P.S. I'm fully capable of swapping levers. I am a fully competent lathe and mill operator, and do some of my own gunsmithing. (I would never touch the internals of a Jewell trigger, though.)
Thanks for your input.
