Jewell trigger how many rounds is it good for?

I am approaching 6000 +- rounds on a BR trigger. Cleaned several times., but what is the expected life span? Thanks

I’d say a lot more than that.

The BR trigger lacks that small piece that always seems to break. So I would assume that it should last a lifetime if used and cleaned properly.

#8 is the piece that breaks on the HVR model. The BR trigger is designed differently.

I have used 3 on bench rifles for nearly 30 years. I shoot a lot. Never one issue, run lighter fluid through them once a year. Oh, forgot I have another on a groundhog rifle that's about 10 years old. Wore lots of barrels out with them.

I have one in a M70 that I used to shoot ATC that likely has 10k+ and has never been apart.

I've had two that had to have the sears replaced. Rolled over right where it picks up the bolt but otherwise they have been pretty darned durable. I miss them. Use a bore guide to keep crap like patch lint out of the trigger and if you oil your bore store the rifle muzzle down.

Ditto to FN. I do the same but the last couple of matches the bolt failed to cock on closing (stiller action)
several times. Sear shows an uneven wear pattern. I would just replace the sear piece if I could get one. Cleaned lighter fluid bore guide etc. Thanks for your input.

Exactly why I’ve managed to round up (5) BR spares at an average cost of $250 each. Two new ones and three slightly used. I too am nervous about ever finding spare parts.

It’s my personal belief it’s still the best competition trigger out there.

A couple of years ago I build a heavy gun cat rifle. I did not like it, so I sold it off in pieces. Stock, action, scope, and a almost new Jewell BR trigger. Sold on here in about 45 minutes. Idiot me.

Like a good custom action, keep it clean with the dust and grit out of it and it will likely out live the owner and then some. I don't think you can wear out a Jewell with reasonable maintenance..

My favorite LV has a Jewell that I bought in 1998.

I have no idea how many thousand rounds it has seen. It still works flawlessly.

I have a clean annd ready to go Bix and Andy for a spare trigger. I had it on the rifle for a while, I could not see any difference so I put the Jewell back on.
