Jewell M70 trigger repair

There might be Remington 700 parts for Jewels out there, but Unless someone has a trigger to sell, I doubt you will have much luck finding any parts for a Model 70.
I am assuming you know the company no longer exist.

When my Jewell went south , I replaced it with a Shilen , and never skipped a beat . Factory setting was on the money , right out of the pkg , and it had the same "feel" and break as the Jewell .
I'm sure there is nothing wrong with the B&A , or Trigger Tech , but I have no issues saving money , either .

Ptg offers a Kenyon style benchrest trigger
Timney offers a single stage trigger
That’s all I see aftermarket
That said the factory pre Moa triggers were pretty good, easily adjustable, and don’t take much stoning to clean them up

Wrote Shilen today and they don’t make a trigger for a M70. Same seems to be the case for B&A too. I guess my old M70’s are dinosaurs.

Does anyone offer repair parts or service for a Jewell M70 trigger?

Thanks,
Bill Bowers

I have a M70 with a Jewell trigger that must be at least 30 years old. I shot it "ATC" for years. I've never cleaned, lubed or taken this trigger apart. But I have had a number of Jewell 700 triggers apart. They are amazingly simple, unless you've lost some parts, I can't imagine why you can't make it work. Clean it really well with "brake clean" and a brush, then put it back together and "flush" it with lighter fluid.

I had a couple pierced primers during load development and broke the sear spring.all hard parts look fine, just need a spring.

Winchester model 70 Jewell ? I have one . It in a zip lock bag ,I took it apart and never missed with putting it back together again because I really didn't need it anymore . But have all the parts .

Could you send me a pic of the parts? Is it for sale?

Actually I bought a couple springs from McMaster Carr but haven’t tried them yet. The leg length is to long and straight. My hope is I can put a 90 deg. bend on each end and they should work. Might be a little till I get to it but I’ll post my results.
