M70 Jewell trigger install ??

I'm interested in a Jewell trigger for my post64 M70. Would like to know
whats involved with the installation. Will the install require any
modifications. The action is married to a "Master Class" XTC stock.
Let me know.

Thanks

Don

When I put one in making it work on the action was easy. Making the new trigger fit back into the stock took some work. It needed fitting it into the stock and trigger guard. It had a HS Precision with the bedding block. The Jewell is wider because of the bolt heads, and it goes lower requiring some of the trigger guard to be cut.

I put a Jewell trigger in my FN SPR which is a Winchester 70 based "sniper rifle". It was necessary to significantly modify the trigger guard to allow the trigger to fit. I also found out that there was some contact with the trigger housing from the inside flat surface of the trigger guard. This rquired further removal of material to avoid putting presure on the trigger housing and causing very high erratic trigger pressure.
The job is not complicated. A good file and dremel are necessary. You will probably want to paint the trigger guard when done.
