Jewel trigger problems

ive put a few hundred rounds through my gun with a jewel trigger in it with no issues. Today I was shooting at the range and my trigger stopped working properly. Sometimes it would fire normally then the next time not at all or I would have to squeeze the he__ out of it before it would go off. Now it just flat out won't release the firing pin. Does it just need a good cleaning with lighter fluid or is something else wrong.

I would certainly remove it, spray it down good with brake cleaner, blow it out and see if that helps. Then douse with lighter fluid and blow off excess.

I took the trigger off the action and cleaned with robinsol (sp) lighter fluid. I blew it off a little then let air dry. I put the trigger back on the action and re-adjusted according to Jewels recommendation. By this I bolted the action and turned the sear screw down until it released the firing pin, then backed off 1/2 turn. I then adjusted the pull weight screw to 1lb (using the middle pull weight spring). I then backed off the overtravel screw until there was plenty of play after pulling the trigger. The trigger worked fine for about 5 dry fires then does the same thing. I re-adjusted by increasing pull weight, 4-8 good fires then back to the same thing. I ended up adjusting and re-adjusting all the screws for over 1.5 hours and it does the same thing each time. Finally gave up and grabbed a new one that was in the safe. Installed it, adjusted it just like I did the other one and no issues. Put it back in the stock and dry fired 25x with no issues. Is there any way to contact Jewel to send this one back and let them look at it?

Called the folks at Jewel, nice people. The fella on the phone wants me to send the trigger in for them to inspect. He seems to think it could be a trigger timing issue but will check the trigger out first before I have to go that route.

Justin,
I just sent one in with the same issue. Good folks and quick turnaround.
Rick
