JB Bore Cleaner

What do you think the little balls/clumps are.
I've separated some of them out and kind of smushed them flat, I don't think they are clumps of the abrasive. Maybe a wax type of carrier gotten hard. I'm going to try the microwave.
Also, my "Bore Cleaner" is ten years old and is brown.
I've got some that dates back to the early 2000's when Brownells used to give out those little containers. They tend to get a crust like look to the top layer too. Nuking them makes it easier to transfer into the large tubs, eliminates the clumps, and brings it back to "normal".

Iosso is a bit more agressive, thus it works quicker. They both work.I use it about every 100 to 150 rounds as needed.
I've found Iosso - along with KG 2 and Flitz bore paste - to clean faster than JB.
The thing I like about JB is it's self lubricating property.
To get a real tight fit, I fold over the patch and wrap it around a parker hale. With JB, I can use 1 3/8" sq patches without a problem.

With KG 2 and Flitz, I have to use 1 1/4" sq patches and have to wrap the patch 'just so' in a barber pole pattern to get them to even enter the bore.

But, it takes at least twice as many strokes with JB.

I have used JB Bore Cleaner since the early 80s. The color has always been brown. The latest I purchased from Brownells is now gray. Anyone else notice this? Wonder if they changed the formula.

I asked Brownells and they claim it has always been gray.

Let me know what you think.
As long as I can remember is been gray.

Just threw this away this morning. I have no idea how long I had it. For sure over 8 years because I already had it when I moved to Virginia.
