Jard trigger vs Timney

Bat Rastard

Gold $$ Contributor
I am contemplating replacing the trigger on a Ruger American. My options appear to be Timney, or Jard.
I have no hands on with either.
Timney has a great reputation. I hadn't heard of Jard before I started looking for triggers on this rifle.

The Timney adjusts to 1.5 pounds. The Jard gives me options as low as 8 ounces.

This will be a range gun exclusively, so lighter pull weight is better.

Does anyone have experience with these or advice to share ?

Thanks

I put a Timney on my Ruger American and set it around 2.5 lbs, IIRC. I am very pleased with it and the other Timney's I have used. My Ruger is not a range rifle but is used as a dedicated varmint rifle here on the ranch.

I use Timney on a bunch of hunting rigs. They've been holding up well under less than ideal conditions. Dusty, dirty, pouring rain and not a whole lot of maintenance.

My next trigger is going to be a jewel from Larry Scott here (check our vendor sponsors). Looking forward to it.

Good luck with your rig Bat,you will enjoy a new trigger.
