In the 190 class, two worthy contenders. Both will actually be in the car no matter what, but assuming an Rsaum can beat my best .284, one of them will on the line first.

The A-Tips shot about a 2” by 2” with an uncorrected constant hold. The range expectedly filled up soon and the wait out made the conditions too different to finish out a comparison.

The A-Tip’s group for the early morning isn’t tiny for the conditions, or better than a .284, but the thinking would be that at 1,000 yards they have both a high BC and rsaum velocity.

Will revisit this some more.

Yeah, the only reason why there’s still any question this late on is because, recently, they have grouped so similarly in my guns. If it’s not windy next week, I’m not sure my .284 won’t be a better choice.

Yes, he sure has. I have .284’s with about a 36 inch MTU (1.45” to 1”) style barrel that can really accelerate 190’s and 195’s. In the right conditions I’ll probably start with A-Tips and the .284, even though I also have them loaded for the saums, just based on belief that the group size advantage from this particular.284 may exceed the drift deficit when switchy winds pick up.

This .284 I have in mind touches bullet holes at 600 yards in mild to no wind. Berger 195’s in first picture. A-Tips in second picture.
