Another nice IA bow buck, this one was 15 miles north of my place.

This one spent part of his time in Canada and part of it in Montana. It's big country that doesn't have much cover so shots are often very long. This guy stopped at 450 yards when he could first see the calling position. He wasn't coming any closer either.

Me in Pennsylvania in 1977 with a Marlin 336 in 30–30 and me in New York 2025 with a Marlin 336 in 35 Remington. Not the biggest buck on these pages but it sure was fun to take a step back in time and hunt with the same type of rifle I did when I started, just a different cartridge.

I haven't been around much this year. And until recently, haven't been out in the woods much, but here are a few. The leaves have fallen, and it's really dry. Every step is a crunch. It's going to be a shotgun only season for me. (I will soon go in for foot surgery, and that will be the end of the season for me) I can't reach out as far with a shotgun as I can with my 22 or 17hmr. So sometimes I see a squirrel out of range, and they hear me comin' because it's so hard to step quietly. Heck, it's hard to sneak up on a squirrel with no sound, much less leaf crunching steps. For these gigantic fox squirrels, I'm using #4 shot with full choke.

Brother in law got this yesterday. I glassed up a heard of 5 2 days before. Only 1 showed back up and he got it. Does not look like im going to fill my tag. Weather has been raining and windy. If i dont see anything tomorrow morning im calling it for me.
