It's that time of year. Let's see those kills.

Just got back from helping a friend in Nevada got a toad of a Buck.
28" wide scored 202"+ has 23" extra and 20" of mass.
Was a brutal hunt 6 miles with 3000' elevation gain, spotted him 3 miles away first light parked the truck at 9:30am at 6800' and hiked to a ridge at 9700' made the shot at 675 yards 1 shot 1 kill its absolutely no way to get closer 600 yards of open ground between us and him. We had to gain another 100' to walk around the basin to the buck got him boned out and walked about 30 minutes in the daylight before it got dark.
We got back to the truck at 10:30 at night, it was an absolute blast, brutal but I would do it all over again tomorrow but this 64 year old body is SORE!!! LOL.
The pic on the right with the sun on the knob is were we glassed the buck from and the truck is in the bottom.

A few more nice IA bow bucks from over the weekend:
Buck 2025 Chase.jpg
This one was about 10 miles south of my place.

Buck 2025 Blake.jpg
This one was 1/2 a mile from my place. He arrowed it Saturday afternoon but didn't find it. They called in a bloodhound from Cedar Rapids to help find it. It was recovered right before dark Sunday.

Buck 2025 Austin't buddy IA City.jpg
My cousin's buddy took this one outside of IA City.

This is a pic of my first Columbian Blacktail buck. I've got pics of him and his buddies from this spring and summer. Watched the antlers as they grew. The big boys quit appearing in late August. However, I have a clan of does that use my property for a sanctuary. About 10 live decoys. This guy showed up on camera Wednesday evening, so I figured the boys were back in town. Shot him the next day.
