It's that time of year. Let's see those kills.

Got out on Lake Erie yesterday with my Dad.
He really showed me up with this 29 incher.
Fish were bitting very light and not hooking well. They were hanging near the bottom very tight. We through back 10 and lost 6 easy keepers next to the boat yesterday. Still came in with a 2 man limit of 12, plus one nice yellow perch.

I did a couple shots of whiskey when we were cleaning them.

Dad’s Hat rye .
A Pennsylvania made whiskey.

It's that time of year again. Let's see those big and small game kills of the '18-19 season.

First one of the year for me, not a trophy, a doe with the muzzleloader. Will yield some nice roasts, chip steak and lebanon bologna. :)
Hit them hard, with the hornet all stung one time drt,100 to 200 yards, lasered all shots.I'm well north of 200 gh's this year so far, when beans come down, and corn add another 25+ easily weather dependent.

Outside with the kids and out strolls a yote across the way. Managed to take it out at 458 yards.

Got 3 rattlers on the gravel on the way back to the house after a morning exercise looking for elk.

Hey Gary, What is the top rifle? I know the bottom is a M21 Cooper Varminter. What length is the barrel on the top rifle? The wood on the Cooper is nice!

That's a Cooper Jackson Game that I ordered from them years ago. The barrel looks like it's a mile long but it comes in @ 26". I think that model rifle came stock with a 24" stainless barrel, but the Swift (in my mind) calls for the 26".

Today I got done in my search for a bull. Wheat fields and open country make it very hard for archery elk. I'd guess I'm around 50miles on the season hiking in search of a bull. Everything worked out perfectly with wind (blowing15-20) and location of the bull. It's by no means a monster but I'm certainly proud of my accomplishment.

As it was I took him at 60 yard, as close as I could get and hit him just in front of a hindquarter and broad head exited just in the lower third of the brisket between the shoulder. Went 125 yards and dead. i couldn't be happier with how everything turned out.

Drew a Wyoming goat tag after 9 years. Started at 710 yards and was walking away, shot ended up at 724 yards quartering away. 6.5 Sherman Max sending a Cutting Edge 140 grain Lazer at 3,080fps entered back of the ribs and left a golf ball exit in the off side shoulder dropping him in his tracks. Then it was time for some dogs ! Furthest was just under 700 yards shooting the sherman, 260 ackley, and 223 AR. The funnest was shooting 22LR out to 250 yards in the wind. I think all of us are going to build a custom 22LR now.
Did some spotting scope comparing and by far the Swarovski BTX is the best for judging goats. We had the BTX with 95mm, ATX 65mm, Meopta S2, Kowa TSN 880, and Swaro ATC. Kind of did the same with the bourbons !
Best shot of the trip was my buddy's 54 yard shot with his CC baby Glock on the 5th try(it actually shoots a bit high and right so he probably would have hit it sooner).
Love me some Wyoming !pd1.jpgpd2.jpgpd3.jpgpd4.jpgpd5.jpgpd6.jpg

Last weekend spent most of the day to get these, as many more were seen but out of range. All shots averaged 200 yards, the sweet spot for the 17 hornet, all drt,no crawlaways etc.
