It's that time of year. Let's see those kills.

It's that time of year again. Let's see those big and small game kills of the '18-19 season.

First one of the year for me, not a trophy, a doe with the muzzleloader. Will yield some nice roasts, chip steak and lebanon bologna. :)
I watched him in the groundhog field at 540 yards, my guess he smelled a couple gh's that I shot earlier in the day,he was across a gravel road used primarily by Amish buggies, rarely does a car traverse this road .he kept testing the air as he cautiously used available cover to sneak in,I know he winded the gh carcasses as the buzzards were already circling. When he finally crossed the road I lasered him at exactly 225 yards, the hornet at that range hits -2in ,he stopped broadside and as he was testing the air I let one fly he dropped in his tracks tail tip circling.DRT,the neck shot shut him down,my guess amale supplying a den of pups.

Ditch banks- tree stumps layed over.. kinda hard to mow..:D .. not as young as I used to be..heat gets me..health wise…
Bought ready to quit…

I’ll just watch them eat my neighbors crop..
Already loaded up ready for next year..

Benelli Super Nova 24” bbl.
Winchester Long Beard 12 Ga 3 1/2” Mag, 2 oz.- #5 shot @ 1,200 FPS..
Carlson’s Turkey choke with .650” constriction.
Deadly combination; longest kill was 63 yds.
To be clear, I had not intended to try a shot that far, however the Bird was actually on a rise just beyond the tree I had used as a limiting marker from my position.
My shotgun had patterned very well at 55 yds at the range and I was confident in the performance.
The 26.5 lb Bird dropped out of sight at the shot, and when I moved forward to where I thought he was, no Bird:(.
Collecting my thoughts, I did a quick 360 scan and spotted him flat on the ground about 24’ beyond where I thought he was.
Huge relief!
He made 3 big batches of Turkey Chili:).

Alfalfa Field just got cut. Saw this yote at 400ish. Decided I'd grab the swift instead of the 20p for additional yardage. It turned out after walking out there after shooting and ranging back it was 310 yards. Settled on him, squeezed the trigger and on a quiet 95* evening that plop was the sound I was waiting to hear. I hit back a little bit as it was just over a little hill and I could only see just above the belly quartering towards me. Lightest breeze must've pushed it a hair off center. Either way it was dead on arrival.
