It's that time of year. Let's see those kills.

This dumb shit finally irritated me enough that I killed him. A pic from the ground blind. a pic of him just before I shot him and a shot of where he croaked. He was quartered away slightly and I hit him a little too far forward, probably only got one lung (the top left entry hole). I waited a few minutes and checked for blood. Couldn't find the arrow at first, so with the snow I started following his tracks. No blood for about 50 yards and then he started to leak. I looked in the direction he was going and there he was about 70 yards away. I walked up and he was still alive. I hate seeing them suffer so I ran an arrow through his heart.

Got my muley buck today, day 6 of hunting over the past 3 weeks, that equals $600 in diesel driving to the zone and back... I'm happy to be done and happy with the buck. One rear fork is broken off entirely, there are trace amounts of velvet left on the antlers which is unusual.

First time using a 7mm-08 with 120TTSX. Shot him in the shoulder from about 150 yards, spun around a few times and tipped over, bullet was a pass through.

Thankful to the landowner for the access and for driving in to load into his truck!

NY gun opened yesterday. Our group went 4 for 7. No pic of the other a busted up 8 point. I shot the standard 8 in the pic with my go too.
Savage 116fs in the tried and true 30-06. Off hand neck shot at a measured 95 yards. It was the only opportunity I had other than the Texas heart shot. He just dropped. Wish I was always that steady.

You fellows had a great hunt.
I used to hunt the Southern Tier every year. It was shotguns only back then. We always got at least 1 buck between the 4 of us. Congratulations on your successful hunt.

I got this bruiser yesterday in Cherry Creek NY. area gun season. A big bodied 9pt. Lots of snow up here for sure! Got another foot overnight and another 10-15 expected today. Shot him with a Winchester M-70 25-06 100 grain partition. That little creek is where he dropped it was also handy for washing up afterwards! Dropped him off at the butchers yesterday and getting the whole deer made into hamburger that place makes the best deer burger I’ve ever had!
