It's that time of year. Let's see those kills.

Im back from a trip in the Buhsveld (Naboom area) Limpopo, for some reason I didnt take any pictures of game taken but we took around 7 blue wildebeest, 3 Koedoe, 5 or 6 worthogs and around 10 Impala. I spend the last day in bed with a massive cold that I also brought back but here are a couple pictures.

Ok, everybody sees dead prairie dog pics. So a twist on my 2022 shoot this year.

The first is a pic of a gate that has NEVER been closed before. Watching for targets and "almost" didn't see it was closed. Would have taken a little time to fix.

The second is what I shot this year.

Accrued a bunch over the last 3 trips. I've been going back and forth to SA nowadays as I prep my retirement to the farm.

Daughter of a good friend made me a coat out of springbok hides. When I straighten my arms the pronks on the elbows fold back in. Fun to wear around the office.

My bontebok. This guy spent 6 years waiting to have a discussion with me about his living situation. Took that guy in June. Man it was cold out.

This big old snot weighed in at 98kg. Got him in December in the middle of a monsoon. Weather broke for just long enough and then turned off wet again.

Then from last June (I've not been on this board in a while) my blesbok. 500m shot right in the boiler.

And the hat trick. All were over 200m away. All headshots. Situation was like a PRS stage. Shoot from barricade (rock) move to new position turn right 90deg, rinse, repeat. All 3 went down within 30 seconds.

And this old guy just needed to be pulled from the neighbors herd.

Took a young friend out on a backpack trip for blacktail. A trophy blacktail is at the top of his hit list. When we got there and climbed into the bowl to glass, we saw 16 black bears in one basin. And of course no deer. So he decided a bear would do. This one was about 275 lbs. There were three larger and one MUCH bigger. Thankfully he didnt shoot anything bigger. With camp and meat our packs weighed 110 pounds for the 5.5 mile hike going out. I am getting too old for that!Josh Bear Siskiyous 2.jpg

Had some early season now luck here in PA yesterday. Went out to a farm we got permission on this year first year I ever hunted private ground. Had a 10 point pretty regular in there also trail cameras showed there was a coyote problem. Got my climber up the tree and settled in by 6am at 7 the coyote came through clear cut gave me a 5 yard shot. Figured I’d stick it out for a little longer to see if the 10 would come through at 745 a doe came out with this 8 right behind her. Hadn’t had a picture of this buck in a month. He is the biggest body buck I’ve shot, took me quite awhile to drag him to the truck lol. Also that exit hole makes it look like a gut shot but entrance was dead nuts perfect I think I may have caught back of shoulder or a rib and it deflected it back because he wasn’t quartered that bad I caught lung liver and front of stomach he made it 100 yards.

Had the pleasure of Taking my Niece out on her last youth deer hunt this past weekend. We hunted hard and found this cool old two point Coues deer bedded up nearly 1000 yards away. We worked our way into 430 yards across the canyon from him and she put him to bed for good with a perfectly placed 105gr Hybrid from from the 6XC. I have got excellent video of the kill shot with vapor trail and everything but I can't get it to post.
