It's that time of year. Let's see those kills.

This monster was supposedly car struck Tues night about 30 miles from my place.

I say supposedly as the pics that were sent to me were 2nd hand. Thought I would share it anyway just for it's freakish size.

Edit: Apparently this buck was actually killed near Junction TX in 2009...damn FAKE NEWS! A friend that is an ex-sheriff's deputy at home recovering from surgery, bored, looked into it.

Made our annual 3-day pheasant hunt to White Lake SD on 2-4 Nov 2021. The three guys in the 2nd picture Chris, Paul, and moi (from L to R) have made 9 hunts together now at the same outfitter’s farm.

The trip was a little more exciting than we bargained for this year. Among other exciting moments, on the second day, there was an electrical fire at one of the barns and the local VFD had to come save the day. The 2nd picture is from the same day, with a pile of birds in the shadows in the pickup bed.

By the third day we were down to short sleeves. This was the 10th trip for Paul and I in the Nov-Jan window, and it’s the first time there was no snow or ice to be seen. Our hotel in Mitchell picked a good year to refurbish their hot tub, because we didn’t need to thaw out after hunting this year.

Good looking animals in here, jealous.
Pulled this guy out of 3/4s of a mile of local, hilly public. A little young, but the potential for me to hunt after today was low, so I'm tagged out
The bullet is an ACME 500gr RNFP over a trapdoor charge of 5744.
Good luck to those still out there and congrats to those done.

Spent KY’s Opening Day, Saturday, helping track, drag, and field dress a respectable Buck for a Friend. Saw a few Does from my stand but no Bucks when I got the call.
Could not hunt Sunday due to work.
Temps peaked in the high 60s By Tuesday, and no activity.
Got a call to join another Friend to hunt his stand since he got his Buck Saturday AM. On Wednesday AM he sat in a creek bottom below me looking for Does and I was on a ridge top flat near a stand of Oaks. A handsome Buck walked out of a cedar thicket perhaps 50 yds to my right and walked into my main shooting lane at <60 yds. Like others here, I have worked hard to establish accuracy out to 300 yds, and made a perfect shot relatively close.
He was in the freezer by 0900, and good thing as temps peaked at 71 degrees that afternoon.

Took this two year old doe this morning. Today was the last Sunday for MO regular season, only saw small bucks that were not legal to shoot and the freezer needed filled.

308 Win. Remington 700 SPS Tactical, Hornady 165 SST at 2600 fps, she was 230 yards away. I held a bit high as I estimated 250 yards away, so it was a few itches high, but still got it done. One shot, DRT. This is the second deer I've taken with the SST, and it had a 3" exit hole, hit second rib behind shoulder, exited fith rib, lungs were toast and the heart was sliced open.

Two weeks of hunting at my place in Georgia and just awful for big bucks. Passed up 18 bucks that I scoped. Biggest were small 8 pts. Not a shooter to be found except on camera. Did klll a couple does with 30-30 for meat. Then this one with my "home-made from junk" parts Savage 260 AI. Practiced to 600 yards, I was ready for this doe in a food plot below me at 60 yards.

Here is the exit hole for the 130 gr. Sierra Tipped Game King (Gamechanger) bullet.

You can really put your fist into that if you so choose. Still, the deer ran 25 yards.

Going back for another week this coming Monday. Already brought home 3 meat does. Big buck or nothing.
