Not much of a story. Just like everyone else I was surprised when I drew the tag. The hunt was text book. I arrived in camp two days before the season and we watched the sheep from a distance, about 1500 yards. We watched them again the next day from the same area. Opening morning they were Within 100 yards of where we left them the previous night. Stalk to within 370 yards and watched them for 3 minutes. Practiced the shot a couple of times and then one for real. Ram ran 40 yards and died. The longest 3 minutes of my life was the waiting for the Rams to split up before the shot. My once in a lifetime hunt was done at 8:33 on opening day. The answer to the two questions I keep getting. Public BLM land and Green score 177 4/8.

Dropped this fellow at 195yds Saturday morning. Not the best but he's meat in the freezer, I lost all my meat from last year when my freezer crapped out in April. Looking for meat does now or a bigger buck.

Had a great opener in WI with a nephew. Morning hunt was a state park muzzleloader where he shot a decent 2.5 year old buck and while he was gutting it out I had a doe come in and shot her within 60 yards where the nephew was working on his buck. We got the deer hauled out and home by 3:00PM and then since we had time went to my father in law’s farm and parked on a hilltop just to watch the hayfields. A little before 5 I saw a deer come across the fence line into the hayfield. Range was 375 yards and I had a 7 RSAUM I built on a Model Seven this summer shooting 150gr Sierra Gamechangers. I thought it was 400ish from ranging earlier and held hair over his shoulders. The buck dropped at the shot with a high shoulder hit. Nice 7 pointer and I was tickled with the shot.
