Another bobcat taken a few miles from my place:

I took my Foxpro for a walk this afternoon & only succeeded in calling in a few crows (no safe shots, all landed in trees). I'm going to have to break down and buy a thermal sometime.


My neighbors went on a LA airboat hog/nutria rat hunt over the weekend. They got 7 hogs and 34 nutrias in two days!

A buddy of mine west of Cedar Rapids picked up a nice shed & christened his new portable blind over the weekend:



Then a neighbor sent me pics of this beauty taken by a kid that lived a few miles away:

Never seen one this particular shade around here before!

Finally the weather calmed down a bit and the dogs were on the move.
The first dog skirted the field and came out in a no shoot area before the wind shifted.
The wind died down and so did this dog.
Dropped it at 208 yards with the 243.

Thursday afternoon and Tuesday night. They’re moving pretty good around here.

Last 2 nights I went out despite the -10 temps. Was in the pop-up blind in the background last night. 22-250 trying some Horn 52 gr Amax/ Varget. So far no fur damage.

Another female down last night. 20 Grendel 55gr bergers is leaving holes in coyotes. Taken at 200 yards

Picked up my European mount from the taxidermist.

That's two big cats I have killed now. First one I got two winters ago, a big Tom. I had him mounted and just got him back from the taxidermist a few months ago. Turned out beautifully. Here he is on the wall and in the back of the truck next to a coyote.

That Bobcat mount is one of the best bobcat mounts I have ever seen. Great spots and color.

Thank you! Yes he was special and why I spent the money on it. I had Wellers wildlife studio out of Tucson do the mount and they did a beautiful job.
